Chaos may seem like a normal part of life, but chaos can come with uncertainty, stress, fear and insecurities. However, while chaos is inevitable, there are ways that you can regain your peace of mind and find a sense of calm no matter what is going on around you.

If you can find peace amidst the chaos in your life it will only help you live a more fulfilled and zen life. And here’s how you can actually make it happen.

  1. Make Daily Meditation a Priority

If you want to find more zen in your life, then you need to meditate. But what do you do if you feel like you don’t have enough time or patience for meditation?

Well, the truth of the matter is—you do have enough time. You just have to make meditation a priority.

Whether you prefer to meditate in the morning or the evening, put meditation on your schedule and make sure that you make time for it each and every day. After all, you only need 15 minutes per day for meditation in order for it to work.

Everyone has 15 extra minutes in their day, you just need to prioritize it. Plus, if you find that you are spending 15 minutes per day alone, in peace and quiet in a state of mindful meditation, all of the other chaos that overwhelms your life will seem to just melt away.

  1. Stop And Take a Breath

If you are meditating regularly, then you know just how powerful your breath can be. Your breath can help you stay in control of your mind, physically help you unwind and bring a sense of relaxation to your body and spirit.

However, just because you practice breathing during daily meditation, it doesn’t mean that you can’t use what you have learned and practice at other times during the day. Whenever you feel like life around you is too chaotic—and like the stress and madness is overwhelming; remember your breathing.

Take even 30 seconds to yourself. Step outside, or even go to the restroom and then take a deep breath in and out. Starting with one big cleansing breath will help you physically and mentally calm down.

Practice your deep belly breathing for a few moments and then return you attention to what you have going on. These little breathers in the middle of the day can really help you find peace in the middle of your chaotic life.

  1. Envision the Outcome You Want

If you feel as though chaos is overwhelming you and that everything around you is stressful and chaotic, it is great to stop, breathe and to put everything into perspective. When you are in the moment and surrounded by the stress and chaos, it can seem as though there is no way out. It is common to panic and imagine that the situation is actually much worse than it is.

It usually isn’t.

Stop and take a moment to envision how you want the chaotic situation to turn out. Use what you have learned with meditation to refocus your attention and energy and to visualize what the future will look like if everything turns out the way you want it to.

Try to really picture what a situation will look like after the chaos has subsided. Think of the best income possible and imagine what everything will look like when this chaos is done. Try to visualize it, or even write it out to make it seem more real—and then have faith that this can actually happen.

Even if everything doesn’t work out the way you want it to, in the moment it can give you a feeling that everything will be OK. This feeling, faith and belief that things are going to work out will calm you down in a chaotic situation. Being able to calm down and put things into perspective will really help you be able to find the right solution to your problem.

  1. Stay Focused on the Task At Hand

If you feel like you have a million things going on at once—and this is what is bringing a sense of chaos into your life, then you need to stop and refocus on the task at hand. While multi-tasking can seem like a good idea in the moment, it can make things feel more unorganized, stressful and chaotic.

You will have already had practice with finding focus thanks to your mindful daily meditation practices. Use the same approach to focus your mind on one thing—and stay focused on a single task at hand. Once you have completed that single task, you can move on to what is next.

This ability to take a deep breath and focus your energy when you feel stressed or as if your life is chaotic can be difficult, but it is possible. You just need to practice and to remember that many times that sense of chaos is mostly in your head. Because it typically is.

Life is full of chaos and uncertainty.  There is no preventing it. And it is important that you are able to find a sense of peace during these times of stress. The more you can do to focus on finding peace, the more relaxed and in control of your life you will feel.
